Myocardial Infarction with Normal Coronary Arteries in a Patient with Heroin Use and Infective Endocarditis.

چکیده
UNLABELLED Myocardial infarction with normal coronary arteries typically occurs in patients under 50 years of age. There is usually no history of angina or previous myocardial infarction, and risk factors for ischemic heart disease are frequently absent. We report a 27-year-old heroin user with normal coronary arteries and inferior wall infarction secondary to infective endocarditis. The left ventricular dysfunction normalized after antibiotic and surgical treatments for infective endocarditis. He was followed at our outpatient clinic for one year without recurrence. Case of Acute ST Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction in Infective Endocarditis-Management with Intra Coronary Stenting
Embolic events from infective endocarditis can cause acute coronary syndrome. Mortality rate is high and optimal management might be different from those chosen in setting of classic atherosclerotic coronary artery disease. We present a case of 56-year-old male who had received 5 weeks of antibiotics for aortic valve endocarditis and developed acute ST segment elevation myocardial infarction in...
متن کاملA patient with myocardial infarction and tamponade as a result of spontaneous rupture of an ectatic coronary artery
Introduction: Spontaneous rupture of ectatic vessels is possible in different vascular beds and it can be life-threatening. Rapid diagnosis and initiation of appropriate treatment are essential. Case report: A 63-year-old man presented with chest pain in a state where he was sleepy. Vital signs at the time of admission included a systemic blood pressure of 90/70 mm Hg, heart rate of 100 beats p...
متن کاملBlood culture-negative infective endocarditis with thalassemia and neurological complication: A dangerous combination
Background: Infective endocarditis (IE) is a life-threatening systemic disease that mostly affects people with valvular heart disease, prosthetic valves, or intracardiac devices. Infective endocarditis is a dangerous cardiac involvement in thalassemia patients. Thus, a multidisciplinary approach is important to provide efficient and effective therapy. Case presentation: A 31-year-old man cam...
متن کاملMyocardial damage of the entire ventricular region in a patient with acute myocardial infarction
Technetium-99m-pyrophosphate (99mTc-PYP) has been used, in combination with thallium-201, to estimate the site and extent of myocardial infarcts. We report a case of acute myocardial infarction with severe coronary disease in which the distribution of 99mTc-PYP was extensive. A 78-year-old man presented with dyspnea, and a diagnosis of non-ST-segment elevation acute myocar...
متن کاملCardiac arrest and ventricular tachycardia from coronary embolism: an unusual presentation of infective endocarditis.
Ventricular tachycardia (VT) has been described as one of the possible complication of acute coronary syndrome. Although the majority of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) cases are caused by plaque rupture, coronary embolism from infective vegetation has been reported as a rare etiology of acute myocardial infarction. Identifying of this rare complication is crucial in management of the patient. We...
